We’ve been spending a lot of time in California the past few months, so we thought we might take a moment to dote on a few of our favorite local artists there.
Jason Koharik is a working artist and designer based in LA where he handcrafts a line of lighting and furniture that are influenced by the fluidity and natural forms of the Art Nouveau period. We’ve used many of his lighting pieces in our designs as well, as each one of them brings a striking and unique quality that we can’t get enough of. His pieces are both timeless and sculptural, with an amazing ability to transform a light into a beautiful and hand-crafted work of art.
Victoria Morris is a California-born potter who has been creating for over 20 years. Her work is the perfect blend of Japanese craftsmanship combined with the simplicity of Scandinavian design and form. Her work focuses on simplicity, showcasing the subtle imperfections that arise from traditional pottery. Each piece is hand-thrown and made to order, creating a personal experience for both the creator, and the receiver.
You can see both their works in many of our designs, especially in our design for the Greystone Estate, because what better place to showcase their work than in their own territory!
